BOHEMIAN PARADISE

From Mnichovo Hradiště we continue along the trail towards Mladá Boleslav. Behind the town Mnichovo Hradiště on the right bank of the river there is a village called Klášter Hradiště nad Jizerou. The dominant feature of the village is the original monastery destroyed by the Hussites which was rebuilt into a chateau and later into a brewery (possibility of an excursion or a visit to the crypt).

Further downstream we reach the village Bakov nad Jizerou whose historical landmark is the Plague Column of St. Trinity, Church of St. Bartholomew and the Church of St. Barbara. On the right bank of the river are the ruins of the castle and chateau Zvířetice.

In the village Debř we enter the territory of the town Mladá Boleslav. On the right bank of the river stands the broken tower of the Michalovice ruins. The main tourist atraction of the city, which is closely connected with the automotive industry, is the Škoda Museum. Besides of the car exposition it is possible to see the production plant tour (order in advance is necessary). The city can also boasts of interesting architecture and a number of museums and spiritual buildings. The Mladá Boleslav Metal Trail is also worth a visit, which will bring the visitor to the historical nooks of the city and highlight the significant sights that commonly remain unjustly hidden from the tourist's eye.
